New Hot Spot-Acadiana
Last evening I had the pleasure of attending the opening-fundraiser party for Acadiana Restaurant located at 901 New York Avenue, NW. This is definitely soon to be one of the area's hot spots. Acadiana is from the creators of DC Coast, Tenhpenh, and Ceiba.
The evening began prompty at 6:00pm with a crowd lined up at the door to partake in the festivities. Inside guests were greeting by a tiered dining room complete with subtle Louisiana flair: modern and antique-like chandeliers, large antique-like amphora pots, and murals depicting the Lousiana bayou. The nosh for the affair included crasfish pies, mini-muffulettas on baquette crips, fried oysters wrapped in bacon, deep-fried foie gras balls, and an assortment of deviled eggs topped with caviar, crabmeat, and shrimp. The shindig was topped off with a live Zydeco band and an assortment of Louisiana style desserts: Pralines, mini beignets, and white chocolate bread pudding.
Acadiana will be hosting a special Po'Boy Fundraiser tomorrow, September 12, to benefit hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Click here for more information on this event.
