Spring has sprung. Time to dust off the sandals and shorts and hoof it down to the wine shop for a bottle of crisp white wine. When you arrive, this one is a sure bet for opulent fruit flavors and refreshing acidity.
2004 Hedges Cellars 'CMS' Chardonnay/Marsanne/Sauvignon Blanc--intense floral aromas with a hint of citrus fruit and banana. Crunchy gooseberries, grapefruit and ripe pear on the palate. Crisp, racing acidity. Medium body. Lingering finish. Beautiful integration of the three grape varieties. A fine foil for seafood, light hors d'oeuvres, and goat cheese. Average retail: $12
